From very first time I heard it I thought it is about a girl who was living isolated form the outside world by her parents who don't allow her to have friends, go party etc. So they kept her isolated but one day she wanted go to face with world, maybe she met somebody someway who encouraged her to that. So she run away from her house and went with a new friend for a party but it was a bit dangerous company so there appeared drugs, which can this voice saying you'll be safe under my control (actually just chorus). She may tried them and got addicted but noticed the problem and tried to fight it on her own.

Then one night, she wandered into the forest near the castle. A dark figure came up to her and told her to follow it. She knew she was being kidnapped as soon as her vision went blanks. She woke up hypnotized by the creature. She fell through the thin ice. She snapped out of the trance, and started screaming for help. She could hear the creature saying once again, "Follow me where ever I go! You will be safe under my control!" She ran and ran, still hearing the creatures frightening voice. She screamed once more. She was caught. The creature put a spell over her. She could feel her body morphing. Days later, a little boy wandered into the forest. He then heard two voices, one deep and raspy, the other pitch and small. "Follow us where ever we go! You will be safe under our control! We will give you *everything* you've ever wanted!" That was a century ago. Lily was never found, neither was the boy, or any of the other missing people. When Lily went missing, her parents called a search party. They searched for months, finally thinking she was dead. Then they heard her voice, along with another, gently saying: "Dont you worry! Just follow me wherever I go! I will give you everything you've been dreaming of, JUST LET ME IN!!" Her parents screamed and ran, never seeing Lily again. Did I go a little overboard? I enjoyed making it though. Before she could do anything a snapping of a twig made her focus her attention on a shadow behind a bush. It was someone wearing a hoodie with its head bent downwards. Then the person focused on its eyes on her. Startling Electric blue eyes stared at her. She couldn't see much of the person because it was blending with the shadows but she knew that It was a boy. He looked at the creature standing before her and shook his head. Again the voice was in her head pleaded not to do it. The boy told her to run as fast as she can in her mind. Somehow she knew it was the boys voice in her head. So she did. Lily didn't know why she did it but she trusted those blue eyes. She ran screaming for someone to help her. The creature was still following her but she kept on running. Her body was tiring very quickly but she heard the creature repeating her to let go and come with it. Finally her knees gave out and she fell onto the ground gasping for air. She thought it was the end for her. But when she looked back the creature was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly the same hooded person from before stepped out of the shadows in front of her. She was shocked as to how he was there in front of her so quickly. The boy was very tall compared to Lily. He then removed his hoodie and revealed himself. He had raven black hair and those striking electric blue eyes. He looked young but older than her. They both were staring at each other for a minute and Lily didn't know what to say. Lily was in the middle of nowhere and began finding her way home...but she was lost. So then a few minutes later, she panicked and after that she calmed down. A creature suddenly appears out of the woods, a black dust figure. Lily was terrified, worried and very scared. The creature wasn't like other creatures. This creature was different. The magical dark dust figure creature held out it's hand and took lily softly by hers. Then it told her, "Don't worry just follow everywhere I go, top over the mountains or valley low. Give you everything you've been dreamin' of, just let me in...Everything you wanted, gotta be the magic story you've been told, and you'll be safe under my control...just let me in... " they both disappear out of the open. - Finishing note: The dark figure wasnt very trustful, later on in Lily's life, the creature didnt just take Lily's soul, but exchanged it for a different soul...a soul that had to live a dangerous, evil life...and so forth... *she took over the soul for the rest of her life.*

Lily is a resemblance of most of the succesful artists/actors and succesful people out there...THOSE that made a deal with the devil, selling their souls for fame and fortune... The lyrics start "she is afraid of the big wide world" - that could could mean that she is scared of failure...not making a success of her life . "she grew up within her castle walls" - while growing up she was not aware of the spiritual realm, no knowledge of demons and evil creatures. " she tried to run, went into the woods" this could mean that she tried to make it on her own, but heard (somewhere) that she could make a deal with the devil for instant success. "people warned her not to go" - people warned her not to make a deal with the devil/ demon "hiding in the dark". The creature (demon) tells her to follow him everywhere, he tells her that he will give her everything she ever dreamt off if she does. The Demon asks her " just let me in" if she lets him in (let her body be a vessel for the demon) everything she ever wanted could be like a magic story, the the demon assures her that if she "lets him in" SHE WILL BE SAFE UNDER HIS CONTROL. Once again he asks her to let him in. She made the deal and the demon possed her, she felt hypnotised and it felt like she was walking on cold thin ice...then it broke and she awoke... At this point she realised what she did she started to run, started screaming- looking for help...its too late....the demon assures her again that he will give her everything she ever dreamt off and that she will be safe under his control. This might sound silly to those who are not enlightened, but those who KNOWS...there is absolutely no other meaning to the song than this. Most of the rich and famous made deals ;-)

- Epic Elite: Here's my take on the story behind the song: There was once a girl named Lily, all her life she was forced to stay inside, and she did, she stayed inside of her home ever since she was born, her parents and others told her to never go outside, that there are monsters and demons out there, waiting and hiding in the dark. However on one faithful day, curiosity drove her out, she wanted to find out what was truly lurking in the mist, so she snuck out when everyone was asleep, there was a forest near her home, she was very familiar with its looks outside but she wanted more than just the vanity of forest, she wanted to see for herself the monsters that so many have warned her about. It was snowing, the trees were covered in a layer of white, sparkling snow, it was looming before her like a great wall, it was somehow............. welcoming. She ran straight in without hesitation, she was deep in the forest not long after, so deep that she could not see the castle anywhere in sight, she slowed down to take in the beauty, it was mesmerising to her, see had never seen so much white and the few trees that she has ever truly got to know was old withered house plants, and she didn't mind the cold at all. As she was walking she could hear a faint sound, it sounded like, a footstep in the snow. She brushed it of, still full of excitement, thinking that it was just branch giving way from the snow, then the sound became more and more frequent, louder as time passed, the trees stopped swaying and the wind disapeared. She turned around, she could faintly see it, a shadow was approaching her, she ducked into a bush as fast as she could, thinking that someone from her home was chasing after her to find her and bring her back. She looked out from the a small crevace in the leaves, she saw a man cloaked in tatered robs from his head all the way down to his feet, his face was shrouded under his hood almost as if he had no face to begin with, he was looking straight at her, he did not move what so ever, he just stood there, staring straight at her. Lily finaly came to her senses, she got out of the bush, then she ran as fast as she could in the oposite direction of the man. She doesn't know how long she's been running, but it seemed like a long time, so she stopped, she leaned down to take a breath, she was starting to feel the cold now, and her hands and legs were trembling and a bit numb, as she looked back up from the ground, to her suprise, the man was standing right infront of her, three feet away, still staring straight at her. startled, she recoiled and fell backwards. Seeing that she was terrified, the man pulled back his hood, he apologized for scaring her, then he asked why someone like her was out in snow like this so ill dressed for this kind of weather (leather boots with a sweater and a hat). She explained to him that she ran away from home after being trapped inside for all her life, she wanted to see what the world was truly like and was it like the fairytales and stories that her familly told her about, he replied by saying that it was a very courages act and praised her for her bravery, to stand up against the very people who imprisoned her, he then said that he could show her everything that the world had to offer, and he could show her the magical stories that she was told about, all and more for just one "small" deal, he explained that this world can be quite dangerous, and that the things in this world could hurt her, so he gave her a proposition, he could show her all the wonders that has ever been seen and have yet to be seen, but in return she must wear a special protection charm for her own safety and listen to whatever command he told her to obey. Lily never got to go outside, not even once in her life,she had never known anyone else but her family, and this stranger was showing kindness to her, not only that but promising her the very desires that she craves, all for a measily charm, this seemed like a dream come true. She said yes, in a very excited voice, she could barely contain her excitement, he continued to pull an amulet out of his cloak, it was very worn and damaged with a purple gem as the center piece, it was glowing with a very calm and low light, it felt strange, almost menacing, but she ignored it,she tied it around her neck. As soon as it was worn, she started to feel drowsy, it became worse and worse, so much that she counldn't stand after very long, she collapsed on to the snowy ground, the man just stood there with a cold and sadistic grin on his face, that was her last sight before she lost consciousness all together. She woke up again, how much time had passed she did not know, she was laying on the surface of a frozened over lake, she cold feel herself getting numb, she was freezing, she lost her hat and sweater, her boots were damaged, she couldn't walk in them anymore so she took them off and threw them aside, the amulet was thrown away from her, she could not remember what happened, she mustered all the strength she had left to get her into a bush, it didn't help with the cold much, she was still shaking violently from the cold, all she could do was sit there and shake. Trying to warm her hands up, she blew into them, but as she looked at them, she noticed that they were different, they were covered with thick dark red substence, she tried her best to make out what was on her hand, to her horror, it was, blood, thick pasty blood, it was covering her arm all the way from her finger tips to her elbows, it was still wet, she had no idea what happened to her, how long she was asleep, or most terrifying of all, what did she do when she was asleep. Out of nowhere, she heard the man from a distance, he was shouting on the top of his lungs, trying to get her to reveal where she was, she was tempted to reply, but then he turned in her direction, she was chilled to her bones, his eyes were jet black with no pupils, she looked abit closer and she noticed that he wasn't walking or running, he was floating in the air, moving at an unatural speed through the thicket of trees, searching for her, she could feel something crawling up her spine as fear starts to consume her, she realized what the man was, one the stories that her parents told her was of a ghost that haunted the forest for centuries, it would try to trick people then it will posses them, to do whatever it wants them to do, she could barely hold back from screaming. Now she had to do something, if she stayed there she would freeze to death or worse it could find her, and he was getting closer and closer to her, then she remembered, she could usually see the frozen lake from her castle, she remembers where she is now, she's just outside of the castle. It dived into some bushes, there was her oppening, she jumped out of the bush, using every bit of strength and stamina she had left, she ran for the castle's direction, she felt her bare feet burning from the cold snow, as she ran she could hear the man behind her, shouting at her, telling her to slow down, to know that his deal was still in affect, that he wasn't done yet, she could still see everything she wanted, she just needs to listen to him. She ignored him and continued running. finaly to her relief she was at the gate of her castle, she could see everyone was all there, she ran to the gate and started banging on it as much as she could with what little strength she had left, screaming to let her in, that there was a monster out to get her, they couldn't hear her through the stone, no matter how much she cried, they still couldn't hear her, she was getting weaker and weaker by the seconds, she could barely breathe, tears running from her eyes,, her throat was hurting from all the shouting, she could hear the man coming from behind her, telling her how foolish she was for running away from the only safehaven she ever had, telling her how stupid she was for accepting such a far fechted lie, telling her that she was an idiot to beleive that a stranger could be so kind to her. She slamed her hands harder and harder and screamed louder and louder as he got closer, then something snapped in her, she collapsed onto the ground, Lily now laying flat on the ground could only listen to man, she started to regret everything she had done, but then, slowly, even the sound of his voice faded, she felt light headed, she couldn't feel her arms or her legs, her heart started to speed up as fear only rose, but then it slowed aswell, she couln't hear anything, everything was silent, it was so peaceful all of a sudden, she felt drowsy, but unlike normal, she couldn't resist, she closed her eyes, and went to sleep, it wasn't cold anymore either, it was actually quite warm, it reminded her of home, of her bed, then everything faded, and like that, she passed away. - Steven Harkema: **Pretty sure it's a story about a girl who grew up in isolation of the real world and grew up in a protected bubble and has been very guarded from the real world (Living in her castle) but has been dreaming of a way to escape her bubble (now and then she tried to run). She runs away from her castle and protective bubble into the dark places of the real world (the woods) - we'll say it's a club or something (Don't go there, there's creatures hiding in the dark). These are all the places she was warned and protected from as a child (They warned her, don't go there) When she finally leaves her protective bubble she is approached by her dream relationship (Something comes creeping and tells her) and she let's down her walls (You'll be safe under my control, just let me in). The chorus is actually the most interesting part in this sense, because the meaning changes as the song goes along. At this time, it's still her dream relationship, so the lyrics are viewed in an ominously positive light. The relationship at this point in the song is still magical (Everything you want - Gonna be the magic story you've been told) She is hypnotized (Hypnotized, walking on cold thin ice) by that abusive relationship initially, but eventually becomes aware of it (then it broke, and she awoke again) Then she tries to get out of the abusive relationship (Then she ran faster, start screaming) and she phones her family back home (please help me, come get me), but realizes that she can never escape the emotional trauma of her relationship. It will always stay with her (Behind her, she can hear it say). This is where the chorus actually becomes pretty chilling and we fully understand why the chorus sounded so ominous the first go around. You get hints of it the first go around with the final line (Just let me in), but now you realize that the chorus is actually referring to the emotional trauma she's been through. The fact the chorus keeps repeating itself is to reinforce that the emotional abuse and impact of that abuse will remain with her forever. Poor Lily... But maybe it's meant to be taken in a mythical sense and/or literally like the majority of people have been taking it here. That's the beauty of music.

Advenatully, she felt like she was nothing, like everything she learned was turning to dust. She wanted it to stop. Her suffering grew stronger, because of the demon. The thoughts lead her to self doubt. She didn’t want to do anything, she wanted to be useless, just like she felt. One Morning, and beam of the sunlight shot through her window showering her in light. She jumped up and looked out the window and the outside world. She began to realize that she could be happy, just like everyone had told her she could be. On the other hand, the demon kept fighting with her mind. Mixed emotions, the ruined but helped her. She screamed for help, she tried to attack the demon, after all the good thoughts she pushed into her head scared it back into hiding. She could think, live, love, and feel. She was free, now when she failed, she knew it was okay. The End

Except, the attention of her parents. Their large fortune came from both her parents phenomenal successes. Her mother, a famous actress was often away for an interview or else acting on set. Her father, a successful businessman was away on business trips for months at a time. However, there was one day a year where both Lily’s parents made sure to be home to spend time with their daughter; Lily’s birthday. Lily would be turning 6 years old tomorrow, and wanted nothing more than a day to have her parent to her herself, so she could bake a triple decker cake with father and receive a makeover from mother. When Lily’s maid Stella came into her room, Lily could tell something was wrong by her mournful expression. “I’m afraid your parents won’t be able to make your birthday this year” Stella said solemnly, “They expect you to behave until they come back and will spend some time with you in a week.” She added promptly with a curt nod. Holding back angry hot tears, Lily screamed, “THAT’S WHAT THEY SAID LAST YEAR!” She jumped from her bed, stomping on Stella’s foot, and slamming the door behind her as she ran as fast as her sickly legs would carry her. It wasn’t long before she was huffing and puffing and clutching her chest trying to keep herself from collapsing. Her anger kept her moving forward however, and as she looked out a window towards the West Woods her parents, maids and servants had so often warned her not to enter, a rebellious thought formed. Creeping out onto the balcony from the window was no easy feat, but alas her determination was strong and she continued running until all she could see were dark creaking trees covered in snaky vines. Suddenly feeling uneasy, she stopped her running and tried to catch her breath. Clutching her chest, coughing and wheezing, she suddenly felt the hairs on the back of her neck lift. Was it just Lily’s imagination or were those snaky vines moving? Strange sounds she had never heard before and hoped she’d never hear again were calling out in the not-so-far distance. The crack of a heavy branch sounded behind her. Lily whipped around, tears of fear now clinging to her dirty flushed face. But it was a creature of light and peace… So gentle and kind, Lily relaxed immediately. Nothing was wrong, everything was fine. She was exactly where she wanted to be. Her parents were here, “We love you Lily, we would never skip your birthday”. Everything was fine. Walking along a frozen lake, nothing was more peaceful. Lily could see shadows moving below the ice, and she waved to her friends beneath the surface, “Hello friends!” She called dreamily. Something was cracking, Lily wondered what it could be, and turned around. Everything was so gentle and peaceful here in this magical forest, whatever caused her fear and panic earlier? SPLOOSH! Plunged suddenly into the darkness, the piercing cold was deafening. Bubbles and gurgles escaped her throat as she tried in vain to call out for help. Sinking down the black lagoon, something kept brushing across her arms and legs, and shadows darker than black were moving all around her… This wasn’t going to be the end for her. It couldn’t be. She wouldn’t die today. Kicking and struggling, Lily splashed her way above to the icy surface, and with one last kick and a punch, the thin ice shattered above her. Gasping and spitting, Lily breathed her first breath after an eternity of waiting. Hauling herself to the edge of this weedy, swampy lagoon full of creeping creatures, she began shivering uncontrollably, hand and foot throbbing with pain. What was she to do now? She picked herself up and tried desperately to run back in the direction she thought was her castle. Jumping over pointed stones, ducking under walls of vines, how far had she been running now? WHAM! A branch whacked her hard in the head, and something warm and sticky trickled down her face. “HELP!” She cried, “HELP!!!” Staggering backwards and leaning on a sticky tree... In answer to her calls, a voice sounded behind her, a familiar warm voice, it was the voice of her father! She ran in the direction of the voice, gasping and shivering, clutching her head, putting all of her strength into finding her father. Her mother’s voice was suddenly accompanied and Lily tried to run harder, but her sickly body could no longer keep up with her demands, and she collapsed gasping and coughing again. But there was the voice again! Coming toward her… Safety at last… But her stomach dropped as not her parents, but a familiar ghostly white peaceful being stepped from behind the tree…

Father rolled his eyes at Lily as he got up and walked into her bedroom. Lily tilted her head curiously, wandering down the hallway and following her father into her room. "Dad...?" He looked at her with not much of a pleasing look. "Dad...!" He began to walk up to her and kicked her to the floor, abusing her physically. "STOP!! PLEASE!" Lily screamed. ~ Time Skip ~ It was 7:45 pm. Everyone was asleep, well not everyone. Lily had been awake for 5 hours, crying and sobbing, rocking with her hands wrapped around her knees. Lily sooner of later decided she had enough of the family, and so she got up and walked over to the door, quietly opening it up. Lily sprints down the hallway and into the kitchen, through the dinning room and through the living room, outside. She ran past villages, homes, shops, down roads, down and up hills. Lily was afraid of the world. Her parents already discussed with her about this forest, told her never to go there, she refused to listen to her parents and so she ran away. She tried taking courage, confidence and risked on running away. She ran into a forest at some stage, she didn't stop but she was begging to slow down and definitely got scared. "Lily~~" The anonymous voice calling out lily's name. Lily got 10x more terrified, the voice suddenly appeared to be a dark figure...a shadow...with white glowing dull eyes. *"Follow everywhere I go, top over the mountains or valley low, give you everything you've been dreaming of, just let me in...oooh...* The dark figure hypnotizes Lily, and so Lily changed...a lot...and not in a good way.... *for the rest of her life...*
