The US has been training the Free Syrian Army for years in Jordan and more recently has prepared to set up safe Zones inside Syria against President Assad's desire. There are reports coming out US British and Jordanian forces are preparing to enter Syrian and from the looks of things it may be that Damascus is the ultimate "Safe Zone" But Iran has vowed to fight the US and seems to make good on such threats.
