Using Mehron’s special effects and Paradise Makeup AQ @thevinfx creates an elf makeup look gone wrong!

The look includes, blood, gore, crepe hair, sharp fangs, DIY elf ears and chest prosthetic. Mehron’s Liquid Latex is used to create gore and torn flesh on the face, neck and used to make a custom prosthetic chest piece. The chest piece is layers of liquid latex, cotton balls and yarn, set with powder and then painted using Mehron’s Paradise Makeup AQ 30 color assortment palette. Using the same latex and shredded cotton balls that artist creates prosthetic elf ears.

Both the chest, neck, face and ears are then set with Mehron’s Celebre Loose Mineral Finishing Powder to remove the tacky texture and prep for coloring. The areas are painted in Paradise Makeup AQ to intensify the gore effect and make a realistic look.

The artist then paints his exposed skin in Paradise Makeup AQ Storm Cloud for a grey skin tone and uses contour and highlight techniques to bring the design to life. He uses Mehron’s Blood Splatter all over the sweater and tears holes in it to expose the painted chest prosthetic. Using Mehron’s Spirit Gum he creates a light, tacky layer across his brows, upper lip and chin to apply Mehron’s Crepe hair in white.

The finish touches are created using a non latex foam sponge and dabbing Mehron’s Coagulated Blood Gel into the wounded gory areas on the face and neck and even slightly over the crepe hair. Put your ugly Christmas sweater on and elf hat and there you have it, a mutant elf that you can use to scare your friends and family at Christmas time, Halloween, a costume party or for fun!
